In the Northeastern section of the state of Georgia, the Chattooga River sits between Georgia and South Carolina. It joins the Tallulah River and stretches overall 57 miles beginning in North Carolina. My experience at this river has been on the Rabun County, Georgia side of it. While camping and hiking there, I took some amazing photographs of the beautiful forests there which seemed mostly untouched. It was such a calming place to me. This painting reminds me of the way this river must be experienced one curve at a time.
After hiking and photographing in each location, I created the "Georgia Nature and Trails" series. This series of paintings depicts some of my favorite Georgia hiking spots including Sweetwater Creek, Arabia Mountain, and the Chattahoochee National Forest.
