Lily Smith is a craft artist who works with metal, fibers and paper to create functional work for both the body and the home. As a plant lover and gardener, her work focuses on fruits and vegetables. Lily's enamel jewelry features whimsical graphite doodles of produce fused into the glass, and her sterling silver jewelry is stamped with phrases such as, 'eat your veggies,' 'grow food,' 'eat local,' and 'plant lady.' Her handbound sketchbooks are also made with paper printed with fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, succulents, and flowers.
Lily earned her MFA from the University of Georgia in 2015 and her BFA in Craft and Materials Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. She loves passing on her knowledge to other makers, and is currently teaching tapestry weaving classes at Fabricate Studios.
She lives in Atlanta, GA with her boyfriend, cat, and many house plants and enjoys baking, gardening and experimenting with fermentation in her free time.
